Charlie Adopted December 27, 2009

Liver/White
About 15 weeks old
Neutered

It's very rare to have a puppy to place. Charlie found himself at the Multnomah County shelter. They contacted us right away, as a shelter is not a good place for a baby (12 weeks old) dog. We pulled him into foster care, where he learned his puppy manners. Here's what foster mom Lisa says: " He is worming his way into my heart rapidly… I may have problems giving him up. We are making progress on the crate and general house manners. He is still easily startled by strange sounds. Whoever gets him should be a experienced with both Springers and rescued dogs, if possible."

He worked on housebreaking, being softer with his baby teeth, and he got along with a houseful of Brittanys and one aging Springer. He found a great family with a nice yard and most importantly, kids to love him.

Snoopy Adopted 11/17/09

3 years old
Male/neutered
Liver/White
OK with other dogs
NOT OK with CATS

Snoopy was pulled from the Salem shelter. He was a "police surrender." He has been a good boy and settled in to his foster home quickly. Good with kids, easy going guy. We're glad he's gone home for Thanksgiving and know he'll be happy in Idaho.

Radar Adopted 11/15

Male/neutered
About 2 years old

Liver/White
Not good with young children
OK with older children (8 years +)
OK with cats

Three year old Radar came to us from Oregon Humane Society as a relinquishment due to a new family member. He spent most of his time outside because of this, and developed habits to help entertain himself. He's particularly attached to Wilson, his green tennis ball.

He's not attention starved as a result, but he needs someone who can give him plenty of one-on-one time. You should also be an active person as this dog is no coach potato. He's loves to walk and run, and his foster family says he is a star jumper and frisbee catcher. He's also an excellent retriever. He loves to have Wilson thrown to him over and over again.

He's neutered and has otherwise been well cared for--he comes with a complete set of medical records. He also seems to have a preference for men, which may be because his former caretaker was a male.

Tuxedo Adopted 11/09

About 9 months old
Male/will need to be neutered
Black/White
OK with other dogs
Unknown with Cats
Kids OK, but not toddlers

Tuxedo was pulled from the Willamette Valley shelter. Tux is very friendly--- might not be good with cats -- but is good with other dogs--ran with his foster mom's 5 dogs and did great--- 55 lbs. but NOT fat----should be good with older kids--- t an obedience class is a must... has potential to make an active family a great dog....

This boy found his forever home in a hurry! No wonder, such a cutie!

Jazz Adopted 8/17/09

Show bred
Born 9-9-05
Spayed
Liver/White
Great with kids
Should be an only dog
Should not be with cats

Currently in Ashland, OR

Jazz is a playful, almost four-year-old from show lines. She is "skittish" around other dogs and should probably be an only dog. Her owner says she is "VERY good with infants, toddlers and children. She never has nipped or growled at any person despite the unintentional rough handling of small children." Jazz has a strong prey drive, "hunts cats and rabbits" and may chase livestock. She has had very strong obedience training. She walks off leash, and obeys very quickly. While she has had some training for hunting (gunshot, retrieval, tracking and dead carcasses) she has never hunted. Jazz had some agility training when she was young, but did not compete.

Jazz "loves to be with her people, loves it more when her people are outside with her. She found a great home with folks who love to hike and be outdoors. Excellent behavior and people friendly. Only negative behavior is with the older dog. She fetches, go on walks, or jogs. She LOVES chasing lights and reflections. She loves swimming and playing in the snow. She will not run off but stays within ear/eye contact if released to run or explore. Loves hunting but has not been trained to stay reigned in. Would be an excellent agility dog. Incredible athleticism.

Daisy : ADOPTED 8/17/09

5-6 years old
Stray from Klamath Falls
Spayed? Time will tell
White/Liver
Special needs: Daisy is deaf

Daisy was brought in to the Klamath Falls shelter where she became an immediate hit. They realized quickly that she was deaf, but she loves to cuddle and is a calm, easy-going girl. Her foster mom in K-Falls says, "WHAT A SWEETHEART! Oh my, she is a very mellow, mush-pie of a dog...and a very pretty dog as well except for
1) urinary infection -largely due I'm sure to unclean housing conditions and exacerbated by-
2) severe foxtail infestation and "the worst matted hair" that our most experienced local groomer had ever seen;
3) she is completely deaf as far as I can tell, but very aware of her surroundings, watches the other dogs and "sees" what they are hearing, and apparently will bark a little if she feels it's needed.
4) she also has a slight case of kennel cough which should go away with the antibiotics that she is taking now.
We took her to the vet this morning, got as many of the foxtail sores taken care of as they can find. Pretty torturous for her, but she's feeling much better.

The good news iis that she was adopted pretty quickly. Her new family has two "perfect age" girls who love Daisy.

She will have a gorgeous coat when it grows back, and since here ears weren't in bad shape, I think we can leave most of her lovely curls on the head. Physically she seems fine...she can jump up into the car (rode perfectly in the car crate) and also jumped up and sat next to me on the bench at the vet's office (and put her paw on my hand....OHHHH!).

Bennie barely got to the foster home!

Bennie was adopted before we even got him up on our website!

Bennie came to us through the SW Washington shelter. He was pulled, had a little journey down the Willamette Valley and was in his new home in about a day. He's a very good boy.

BEAR ADOPTED in a HURRY!

6 years old (1/12/2003)
neutered
Good with kids
cute hair<G>

Bear came to his family about a year ago when his original owner had to go into assisted living. He gets along wonderfully with their 4 year old child, but HATES the CAT! They've tried everything but he will not leave the cat alone! He is healthy (even his ears) and up to date with shots. He is playful but insecure with other dogs... not much experience. He does not go after them like he does the cat. He has met goats and wants to chase them.

His family says: "This dog is extremely sweet and loves people. He has had two homes, and feels a bit insecure. We are broken hearted to not be able to keep him as an indoor-outdoor dog, but in the year that we have had him he has not calmed down about the cat, and chases him every time he comes inside. Bear is very sad to not be able to hang out inside with his people, and becomes withdrawn.

"Bear is playful and will fetch balls, although wants to be chased more than he wants to return them. He has a lot of energy, and loves to run. He comes when called and can be trusted not to run away or fight with other dogs. He is very friendly and playful, although had not been really played with much before we met him, I think. "

Bear found his catless home very quickly.

Annie has found a great home.

Age: 4 years
Spayed
Liver/White with freckles
Field Bred

Annie was rescued from a relative who did not have time to care for her. She is housebroken and crate-trained, seems good with the kids that visit (including a toddler) but chases CATS! Also too interested in birds! She rides well in the car when crated (which is, after all, the safest way to travel). She seems to like other dogs and has been exposed to three small mixes that are in the immediate family and seems to take to them well.

She is learning sit, lay down, heel, shake and stay out of the kitchen (our household rule). Her foster family is teaching her to ring a bell to ask to go outside to potty. She knows "Go to bed (crate)". She is good in the crate when left alone She likes to play a lot but can also settle down. She likes to explore the fenced back yard. Does not dig our chew on items.

Annie is very sweet, happy and loving;she likes to be petted and near her "person" and would prefer to sit in your lap. She likes to wrestle and hug. Prior to our home, she was in a crate in a garage for about 6 months and is still learning some basic manners and social interactions. She does well with baths and is very curious.

Annie likes to play with her toys and chase balls. She likes to go for walks and does well with a harness and leash. We took her to the beach recently and she really enjoyed it. We have not yet let her off her leash to roam free.

Jake Adopted

Show bred
6 years old (8/2002)
Neutered
Housebroken
No toddlers, No cats

OK with older female dog

Jake is a good boy whose life changed with the addition of a baby to the family. Now that baby is starting to stand (and WILL grab a handful of hair for help pulling up) his folks recognize that Jake needs to find a new home. Jake's had obedience training, knows his basic commands, and absolutely LOVES his tennis ball! He likes to hike, go for rides in the car; he's been on lots of road trips, has good motel manners. He is a very playful dog. He's been well loved and well cared for.

Jake is healthy aside from some fatty tumors (not dangerous). He is housebroken and OK by himself. His vaccinations are up to date and his health records were transferred to his new home. Jake has found physically active owner(s) as he is used to lots of outdoor outings.

Jake has found a great home with a mom who has no babies to pull his ears and steal his toys.
