DinoAdopted Owner Referral: Dino is a handsome boy from well known show lines. His not-quite-perfect hips took him out of the show ring and into a pet home, where he's been resident couch potato and companion for the rest of his 9 years. He has his own toy box and favors the stuffed animals.Dino has soulful eyes that just tug at the heartstrings. He's gentle and very loving. He is going to a new home in Salem, OR, with two new children to play with. |

KatieADOPTED 5/18/2001Katie is a 5-6 year old stray female when she came to us. She is liver/white and we think is spayed. She was pulled from the K-Falls shelter after several weeks and was in foster care for several weeks while we treated her ear problems. She had surgery on her left ear... it had been neglected for so long that we had a tube put in. But at least there was no tumor, which we had feared. She is in her new forever home with a great family where she could help raise the family's little girl.Katie is a sweet, calm girl, wanting to please. She is great around other people dogs and fine with cats. What Katie wants most is to be with people. She is an inside dog with great house manners, good on a leash. She must have a secure yard and be crated or inside when you're not home, as she did take off from foster care and had a little adventure. She will protest loudly if left outside, but is quiet in the house. |

Before: bad hair day!
After the makeover. |
SqueakADOPTED 5/18/2001Squeak is a 3 year old girl who was turned in to the shelter "because she wouldn't quit having puppies." We knew how to fix that! We're pretty sure that she's related to Katie, 'cause they both came to us from Klamath Falls with really short tails. She does NOT want to be left outside in the kennel and is very vocal about it. However, in the house, no bad habits, good with cats, great with people. She's sort of a Velcro dog, but learning that life can be good with her retired new family. |

BIFFJune 3:This is BIFF. He was foster care in Portland for about two months. He's 7-8 years old, and neutered. His owner rescued him from the Humane Society at about 1-11/2 years of age. He loves to play ball! He gets along with other dogs great. Biff is not aggressive. His foster mom said, "Biff is a wonderful, loving companion. He loves to be scratched and petted and gives a lot of loving back, too! He's happy to stay outdoors all day, but he's fine snoozing inside, too. He has a unique personality and uses his paws like they're arms, grabbing on to things and asking for lovin' (you have to see it to believe it)."Biff joined ANNIE in Vancouver, BC. This is a wonderful home with two of our favorite adopter's! What a great placement! |

Jerry SpringerApril:This is Jerry Springer! Jerry was adopted from a Grants Pass shelter but inspired jealousy in the already resident dog. The owner had him neutered and we placed him quickly with a retired couple in Portland. The neuter clinic missed the little detail that Jerry had Parvo. He was a very sick boy but made it through, thanks to his new and loving family.Jerry is a huggy guy in the house, but outside, he is constantly busy, looking for birds and squirrels. What a sweetie, and what a lucky boy to find his new family. |

MaxApril:Max is a neutered l/w male, about six years old, who can hunt! He used to like being outside during the day when he lived in Spokane on 2 acres with another springer to keep him company. He chased birds and mice, and played with his buddy. He also used to bird hunt frequently, but hasn't seen much action since he came to Portland.

TobyApril: Toby (who was Riley) is a young English Springer - Cavalier cross. He is small and tri-colored. His tail is undocked. He is a handsome boy, and has a wonderful happy-go-lucky temperament. He was surrendered to Cavalier Rescue for anticipated high maintenance costs associated with his allergies. His former owner bought him out of a local newspaper as a Cavalier. As you can see from the photo, he and Annie are quite enamored with each other. He has cultivated the same kind of relationship with other family members... even Max the cat. He's an especially lucky boy as his new owner's sister owns a pet shop at the coast, and when they visit the store, Toby is allowed to play with all the toys he can reach.

MaggieAdopted 2001 Maggie is an older black and white spayed sweetheart. She was in foster care, but none of the prospective homes could possibly love her as much as her foster mom so that became her forever home. . She loves people, other dogs, and cats and is very happy on the property with three other dogs. She's not a very active dog, and is more interested in a tummy rub than a run. She sleeps in her new mom's room on her own pillow.Maggie is nine years old, but she's in good heath. This senior has many more years of love to give her new family. |

Rocky's a good lookin' guy! |
RockyAdopted 2001 Rocky is a b/w neutered boy who is less than 1 1/2 years old. He's an active guy who is good with kids, cats, and other dogs. He has had very little training, and his present owners are away from home up to 12 hours a day, which leaves very little time to train. He went home with a family with young kids and doggie experience. New mom is home much more, and his new kid-friends will play with him and enjoy him! |

LibbyAdopted 2001 Libby is 1 1/2 and joined her new family on March 11. She had been adopted from a family in Grants Pass and was doing fine, when the youngest daughter developed a miserable allergy to dogs. Now she's in a home with another dog and gets to go play at the park! We're not 100% sure she's all Springer, but she's "close enough!" Nice smile, Libby! Libby's mama is in touch around Christmas every year... with another donation. We love hearing about this girl and how loving she is! |

LuckyAdopted 2001 Lucky joined his new family on March 10th. He's happy to be in Tillamook with a loving couple who have more time for him. The fenced yard is great, too! Lucky is between 2 and 3 years old. When rescued, he had such a bad ear infection that his Vet used the photos in his practice as a "worst case" example. He was being kenneled up to 18 hours each day. Lucky is a lover, and wants a lot of attention. He is great with kids and loves to play. He does fine with cats, and is quite sociable with other dogs. His weight is down from nearly 75 pounds to a healthy 53 pounds now. We're glad he's in his new home. |

ClydeStayed home 2001 We feel that sometimes the best success is staying home! We love when an owner fills out the referral form and decides, hey this is a great dog! Clyde was a stray who wandered into Kim's yard in Boise, Idaho last fall. He is 5 years old, and neutered. The finder fell in love with him, but her husband had decided that he's too big and too hairy to hang on to. He's changed his mind now (Clyde had a haircut) and Clyde can stay! His owner says that Clyde is MARVELOUSLY AFFECTIONATE. He is perfectly housebroken and very obedient. He gets along great with all people, other dogs, cats and kids! |

FrecklesFreckles is a 5 year old l/w neutered male whose owner died suddenly. The widow was not able to give him exercise (she's in her 80's) and needed to find him a place. 15 minutes after I talked to her, a couple called from White City. You would have thought they'd seen this dog and were describing him! Even annoying habit were met with, "Yes, our old dog did that!" They were up to King City in a couple of days, and Freckles settled in as if he'd always been with them! We LOVE when that happens. Freckles found his new home so fast we didn't get a picture! |
Adopted 1/11/01 |
MollieMollie was a real find! She's 1 1/2 years old, liver and white, spayed, lived in Boise, from hunting lines. Her owner says she shows lots of promise as a hunter, good nose, birdy, quartering and not gun-shy. She is not trained yet. After trying unsuccessfully to arrange transportation, her new owner flew her from Boise to Portland. They are very happy with their new arrangement! |

BabyThis was Baby, a tiny, 6 month old spayed black/white girl, when picked up from Willamette Valley Animal Shelter in Salem on 1/5. She was briefly in foster care, and we thought we'd have to find a new foster place, but her just-right family came along in the nick of time. Now she's Maggie and has her forever home. She has a lot of energy, but is a little shy until she's sure of herself. Isn't this the sweetest face? |
Woof! JackAdopted November, 2000Poor Woof! He was a gift to a retired couple from their grown kids, but his training was more than they wanted to tackle. We felt like his name was more like a comment!Luckily, we had an application from a great family in the Bellevue, Washington area. They wanted a boy Springer to be company for Libby, their young mixed-breed pound puppy. Jack got a new name, a best friend, and five acres to run on! |
