Check back
often. New dogs go up as soon as we get them.
NOTICE:
The national rescue ESRA has brought a bunch of Springers from a
seizure in Kansas/Missouri. Washington ESRA will have dogs available.
Here is a note from their coordinator!
Hi,
We are back in town with lots of dogs. We are
still getting to know them. There are some wonderful females in the
2-5 range in Western WA but all have health issues we are dealing with
now. Even though you are an established volunteer, it woudl be good
to fill out an adoption app on the ESRA website so that the foster mom
and you can have a good chat about what dog would be a good fit!! We
will post the dogs on the website probably in a week or two. Thanks,
Kathy

change the world of each rescued dog."

We prefer families
with a fenced yard, as
most Sp ringers need daily exercise beyond an on-leash walk,
and some dogs (usually those pulled from shelters) have been
found wandering. This is not an absolute requirement.
Families with toddlers may have a longer wait until
we have a dog with proven toddler experience.
We encourage our new families to give their new friend some formal
obedience training.
Shelter listed dogs will be adopted through the shelter and are
subject to their fees and rules.
NOTE: Almost all shelters list dogs at
http://www.petfinder.com They are often adopted straight from the
shelter. It's a good idea to search that site at least weekly. Some
shelter software only allows them to list "Welsh" Springers. We've not
yet seen ANY Welsh Springer in a shelter... they are somewhat rare.
We assume the dog is an English Springer.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

BEAR PENDING ADOPTION!
6 years old (1/12/2003)
neutered
Good with kids
cute hair<G>
Bear came to his family about a year ago when his original owner had
to go into assisted living. He gets along wonderfully with their 4 year
old child, but HATES the CAT! They've tried everything but he will not
leave the cat alone! He is healthy (even his ears) and up to date with
shots. He is playful but insecure with other dogs... not much experience.
He does not go after them like he does the cat. He has met goats and
wants to chase them.
His family says: "This dog is extremely sweet and loves people.
He has had two homes, and feels a bit insecure. We are broken hearted
to not be able to keep him as an indoor-outdoor dog, but in the year
that we have had him he has not calmed down about the cat, and chases
him every time he comes inside. Bear is very sad to not be able to hang
out inside with his people, and becomes withdrawn.
"Bear is playful and will fetch balls, although wants to be chased
more than he wants to return them. He has a lot of energy, and loves
to run. He comes when called and can be trusted not to run away or fight
with other dogs. He is very friendly and playful, although had not been
really played with much before we met him, I think.
If you think Bear would fit in your catless home, contact his owners:
